Low
Voltage Wire Pulling & Installation

Every type of low voltage cabling — fire alarm wire, Cat6, nurse call, AOR, CCTV, and more — pulled by PCS's own licensed crews across Utah.

Overview

One Contractor for All Your Low Voltage Cabling

Powered Control Systems pulls low voltage wire for virtually every system type — fire alarm, data networking, security, healthcare, AV, and building automation. Because we install all of these systems ourselves, our wire pulling is coordinated intelligently across all trades, eliminating the confusion and miscommunication that comes from having multiple low voltage subs on the same project.

For general contractors, working with PCS on low voltage cabling means one sub handles fire alarm wire, Cat6, access control runs, CCTV cabling, nurse call, area of refuge, and PA system wiring. That's fewer coordination meetings, fewer RFIs, and fewer schedule conflicts — all translating directly to project cost savings and on-time delivery.

Our crews are experienced, licensed, and familiar with the specific requirements of each cable type — from CI-rated circuit integrity cable for fire alarm to properly routed fiber for backbone data runs. We pull it right the first time.

Our Capabilities

  • Fire alarm wire: FPLR, FPLP, and CI-rated circuit integrity cable
  • Network and data: Cat5e, Cat6, Cat6A structured cabling
  • Fiber optic: single-mode and multi-mode, fusion splicing
  • Nurse call system cabling
  • Area of Refuge (AOR) communication wiring
  • Access control wiring: panels, readers, door hardware
  • CCTV and IP camera cabling
  • Intercom and PA system wiring
  • Mass notification and speaker system runs
  • Building automation system (BAS) low voltage wiring
  • Distributed audio and AV system cabling
  • Conduit installation and wire management
Why Choose PCS

The PCS Difference

All System Types, One Crew

Fire alarm to fiber optic — our crews handle every low voltage cable type on your project, eliminating sub-to-sub coordination.

System-Specific Knowledge

Because we install the systems too, our wire pullers understand the specific requirements of each cable type — routing, labeling, termination.

GC-Friendly Scheduling

One call handles all low voltage scheduling. We coordinate with other trades and adapt to your project timeline.

Licensed & Code-Compliant

All cabling is installed to NEC Article 760 (fire alarm), Article 800 (communications), and applicable NFPA standards.

FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

Circuit Integrity (CI) rated cable is designed to maintain electrical circuit performance during a fire for a specified period (typically 1 or 2 hours). It is required for fire alarm circuits serving certain critical loads, including elevator recall, door release, and smoke control systems in high-rise buildings. PCS's NICET IV engineers specify the correct cable type for each application.

Cat6 supports 10 Gigabit Ethernet up to 55 meters. Cat6A supports 10 Gigabit Ethernet up to 100 meters and provides better performance in high-density environments. For most standard office and commercial deployments, Cat6 is sufficient. PCS can advise on the right category cable for your specific bandwidth and distance requirements.

Yes — and this is one of our core advantages. PCS pulls wire for and installs fire alarm, access control, CCTV, nurse call, and other systems under one contract. This eliminates the disconnect between the installer and the wire puller that causes many project delays and rework issues.

Yes. PCS installs EMT and rigid conduit, wireways, and cable tray as part of our low voltage cabling work. Conduit routing is coordinated with other trades to avoid conflicts with mechanical, electrical, and structural systems.
